Hello, I'm Cowabash also known as Wanda. This page will tell you a little about me. I'm married to a great guy named Gary. We have three wonderful kids. Kelly, Gary Jr. whom I call Bud, and Samantha.
Kelly is manager of a hair salon and is very successful. She's very talented and very independent. She has her own home, two dogs, and a cat. Bud is in his second year at WVU in West Virginia. He loves it out there. Our baby Sam is a freshman at UNCW. She's doing very well so far and we're very proud of her. We have a cat named Sox. He's the only four legged member of the family left.
We lost our spirthighed tortoise this past May, and Spencer our Pomeranian in August. It's amazing how much we miss them.
I'm a Registered Nurse with my certification in critical care. I love what I do for a living. I work in different hospitals in the city through an agency, and I also work in a Level II Truama Center both in the ER and the ICU. This past March I fell
while attending a concert and injured my knee. I had surgery for it and was doing well until I had a bad reaction to a medication. I have been out of work since. So, I have become addicted to my computer. I have learned how to make graphics and design web sites. This site was a year old in August. It's a work in progress. As a matter of fact, I am rewriting this page today because
it misteriously disappeared from Homestead. LOL It also needed an update. When I started out a year ago, I didn't know how to do anything. I have come a long way, although I still have much to learn. I hope that you enjoy your stay here at the Palace.
I guess by now you are wondering how I got the name Cowabash. Well, my father-in-law sorta dubbed me with it. We bought a home in Calabash North Carloina several years ago. It was for our retirement. We were visiting my inlaws there and just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Anyway, at the time I was really into doll collecting. Hubby and I were out shopping at the local craft places and we
found Molly, my first cow. She was handmade, dressed in a blue calico print dress and I fell in love with her. After getting the house, I thought how cute it would be to have cows in my kitchen down there. That's how it started. My father-in-law would refer to the house as a "Cow Palace." Then, as the herd took over more and more rooms, he bagan to tease me
and call me Cowabash. So, when I ventured into the world of cyber space, I took Cowabash as my screen name. After all, it suits me!
Our home in NC is close to the beach and I spend as much time there as I can. It's decorated with my cows. I have managed to find all kinds of cow things. I even have cow pajamas to sleep in when I am there. I am looking forward to when I am there all the time. One of my favorite things
to do is sit on the beach and read with my feet in the water. I also enjoy turtle watching. Although I have never been present when a nest has hatched. Maybe some day. Music is another one of my loves. County, Oldies, Classical, Jazz.....guess there isn't much in the way of music I don't like. I also collect dolls, snow babies, hinged trinket boxes,
mini tea sets, and bells. I have a passion for reading and am lucky enough to be able to read at work since I work night shift. Yes, I'm a vampire. One of those people who funciton much better when the sun goes down. Gary and I often
laugh about our retirement years. For one thing, we'll need two houses just to house our collections. He collects trains, turtles, coins, stamps, and bottles. That's how we wound up with Max, our spirthighed tortoise. At least I haven't brought a live cow home. YET! Of course I am always threatening to.
I have a hard time remembering what I spent so much time doing before the computer came along. Maybe my house was cleaner then. LOL I have met some wonderful people here online. As a matter of fact I met a nurse on here who's name is also
Wanda and she is from North Carolina. That was a few years ago. We have become such good friends. I was her matron of honor in her wedding. The internet has truely made our big world much smaller and friendships from all over attainable. I'm glad it came along. Especially now.
I just celebrated my 50th birthday in September. A half of a century old! Wow sounds terrible doesn't it? Well I can remember when I thought so too. But now it sounds pretty good when I consider what the alternative might be. :)
Thanks for stopping in to get to know me a little. Enjoy your stay and come back again soon.
